Three.

Even worse was the pair of flickering wings on her back.

She covered her face in horror. This had to be a bad dream. Or a even worse trip. So she woke up after fainting to find herself with wings and kitty ears, what else could go wrong? She pursed her lips and looked up to find herself turning pale.

Everything was huge. The hallway now seemed to stretch for miles, and the doorknob to her boyfriend’s room loomed above her, mocking her size. The kitchen was now a city of counters and the couch towered above her. She meeped weakly. She was Alice in Wonderland..err, her boyfriend’s home. She pinched her right cheek and hoped that she would be waking up in her room, completely normal, laughing off the bizarre dream she had. But no, it wasn’t a dream, she really was a cat-eared 2 inch fucking fairy.

To make matters worse, she heard the doorknob above her click and turn, and thundering footsteps resonate from the ground. She turned to see…

…her giant boyfriend peeking out from his bedroom, curious about the thud he heard a moment ago. His eyes darted around in investigation.

Well, shit.

he was tall before, but this was ridiculous. Not wanting to be seen by him in this state, the kitty-girl bolted for the couch, seeking shelter and solace. She breathed heavily, eyes darting around and changing color from a pale green to an anxious yellow due to her emotions. She muttered a silent prayer that he would not find her like this. If he did, she would be fucked. She was already fucked, but why would he want to date some freak like her?

He shrugged before retreating back into his bedroom, muttering to himself. “…Thought I saw something.” She heard him leave the hallway, and breathed a sigh of relief. He was gone. She was undiscovered! She smiled weakly and turned to find herself face to face with his monster of a cat.

…Double shit.

Not wanting to be meow mix, she turned and raced toward the bedroom door, screeching in horror. The cat hissed in pursuit, and the fairy’s ears folded back in fear. She lunged for his computer, flattening herself against the monitor, holding her breath. The feline growled and searched the room, her long tail swishing back and forth in determination. The boyfriend cocked his head in confusion of his pet cat and reached down to grab her. He stroked her raven fur soothingly as she hissed in retort. “Zoe, what’s wrong?” he cooed. “is there a bug in here? What are you hunting?” He stroked her fur until she calmed down and began to purr in relaxation, then released his hold on her, letting his pet pad away to the kitchen.

The fairy finally let herself breathe again, slouching down against the cool dark monitor. Her entire body trembled with fear, and her eyes flickered to a somber aqua color. He covered her head with her hands, shaking her head. Why? Why was this happening to her? What the hell was in that soda? She had joke about magical smoothies before but a soda can? That was just a bitch move.

Her ears flattened against her head as she pulled her knees in closer, hugging her legs. She shut her eyes angrily. Her boyfriend would never want to be with her like this. Why would he want to date some freak like her? She would be alone, left to be lost in her now fucked-up world, or eaten by his cat, or left to die. A tear cascaded down her cheek, and a soft sob escaped her lips. She shuddered as she cried softly, wishing this wasn’t happening to her.

Her boyfriend laid on his bed, raising an eyebrow as he thought he heard crying. He shrugged it off, blaming it on the wind or whatever. He slid his iPhone out of his pocket and his fingers began to race furiously across the touch-screen.

The fairy was still crying when she felt her cellphone vibrate in her pocket. Sniffing, she reached for it and checked the screen to see a new text message.

“I hope you feel better <3 I miss you =[“ Her boyfriend had just texted her. She blushed and peeked out from behind the monitor, eying his resting figure on the bed. He closed his eyes and sighed, then opened an eye. He could have sworn he heard something vibrate. He checked his phone, but it wasn’t the culprit. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. What the hell? First a thud, then a scream, then crying and now a cellphone vibration? Something was up.

She slid her phone back into her pocket and continued to clutch her legs together, thinking about her doomed fate. He carefully moved across his bed, eyes darting around everywhere. Either it was his imagination or something…something was in his room. He pushed back pieces of paper and his Xbox 360 controller, then moved his hand around his desk, searching. The fairy noticed this and held back a yelp of surprise, and huddled closer into the back of the monitor, watching her boyfriend’s huge hand reach around in the darkness. Her heart raced faster with each swipe.

“Please don’t find me,” she whispered to herself, eyes brimming with tears. “Please don’t find me…”
